Job Title: BIM Designer
The BIM Designer will support commercial construction projects by developing and coordinating detailed BIM models and construction documents for electrical systems. This role plays a key part in the overall BIM process, ensuring that models and drawings meet project schedule, budget, and scope requirements while maintaining strong communication between the design team, field personnel, and prefabrication teams. The position offers the opportunity to work on large, complex projects in the semiconductor industry and to gain hands‑on experience with advanced facility construction.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the BIM process from internal team through to client, ensuring all deliverables align with the project schedule, budget, and scope.

Serve as a BIM modeler for electrical projects on advanced facility construction, taking ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.

Assign modeling and drafting tasks, including self‑performing work when appropriate, and set priorities to meet project deadlines.

Monitor progress and perform QA/QC on 3D models and 2D drawing deliverables in accordance with Virtual Construction (VC) standards.

Interpret project schedules, budgets, deliverable requirements, and field requests to plan and execute modeling and documentation work.

Work in close coordination with the prefabrication department to ensure models and drawings support prefabrication needs.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and other project stakeholders.

Use Revit to produce accurate shop drawings from 3D models for electrical construction.

Follow company standards and procedures for creating shop drawings and other documentation from 3D model content.

Download and manage drawings and project information from online platforms, including SharePoint and project websites.

Prepare copies and assemble sets of documents for transmittal to project partners and other parties.

Collaborate effectively with Virtual Construction and Prefabrication team members to support coordinated project delivery.

Apply a competent understanding of client policies and procedures when developing models and documents.

Receive verbal and general written direction and translate it into complete, accurate, and constructible design documents.

Essential Skills

Proficiency with Revit, including experience producing shop drawings from 3D models.

Experience with Navisworks for model coordination and review.

Hands‑on experience with BIM tools and workflows in a construction environment.

Ability to work with BIM 360 or similar construction collaboration platforms.

Strong electrical drafting skills within a BIM or CAD environment.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, construction documents, and project specifications.

Competent understanding of client policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

Ability to take verbal and written direction and convert it into accurate design and construction documents.

Strong communication skills to work effectively with field personnel, project managers, and design teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working on electrical projects in advanced facilities or semiconductor environments.

Familiarity with Revit MEP for modeling mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Experience working within Virtual Construction (VC) standards and processes.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in both 3D models and 2D drawings.

Comfort using online platforms such as SharePoint and project‑specific websites to access and manage project information.

Interest in learning from and collaborating with prefabrication and field installation teams.

Consultancy role includes 7 paid holidays and 40 hours of PTO and sick time during a 12‑month period.

Work Environment
This role is primarily office‑based, working closely with a design team, Virtual Construction staff, prefabrication teams, and onsite electricians. The position offers strong mentorship and opportunities for professional growth while working on large, complex projects in the semiconductor and advanced facility sectors. Work may take place at an office location or at a project office in Hillsboro, depending on project needs. The environment is collaborative and fast‑paced, with frequent interaction between design and field teams and regular use of BIM technologies such as Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and SharePoint.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
