Construction Estimator - Mechanical & Process Piping

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Construction Estimator with Mechanical and Process Piping experience to join our talented team. The ideal individual will be a good communicator and a team player with a good foundation in cost and estimating. Responsibilities include developing cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design, supporting client land acquisitions, delivering and presenting updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones, reviewing proposed design changes
ew technologies and preparing estimates within appropriate accuracy levels, understanding design stages and estimate levels, providing commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises, preparing cash commit forecasts for the construction life cycle, working collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/cost plans, analyzing labor markets and cost drivers such as unions & tax, supporting our clients with monthly presentations, delivering Life Cycle Costing models, benchmarking integration to ensure accurate data capture, and SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. Individuals will be working as part of a team providing estimating support activities across a variety of life science sector projects and programmes. Responsibilities will consist of preparation of benchmarking reports and development of appropriate data, measurement and estimation from a first principle basis for projects at all design stages, proficient in measuring using CSI Masterformat, undertaking reviews of 3rd party estimates to identify alignment with the market and preparing reports to detail findings, preparation of estimates for project change orders and review of EPCM submissions. Market sector experience includes pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D facilities, CGMP facilities. Project/program size in dollar value ranges from $50m to $1bn+. Software specific requirements include CostX experience preferred but not essential, experience in measurement software essential. Certification requirements include AACE membership or equivalent preferred but not essential. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction, minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, experience working in a construction cost management role such as Estimating, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc., thrives in a client facing role, experience supporting program level cost management for medium or large-scale construction projects, good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering, and strong communication skills. The salary range for this full-time role is $110K-$150K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.
