Job Description

The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that utilizes financial expertise to assist customers with banking solutions and needs, helping them achieve financial goals while optimizing their relationship with TD.

Depth & Scope Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to identify opportunities to educate customers on Bank products or refer to appropriate team members or internal partners, ensuring a positive experience.

Broad knowledge of the full product suite, services and processes, handling low to moderate complexity and risk.

Establishes and nurtures customer relationships through product knowledge, active listening and additional conversations to identify further needs and offer solutions.

Makes product recommendations based on customer needs, highlighting features and benefits that support customers through challenging times and life events.

Utilizes Customer Relationship Management tools to play a key role in customer assessments and proactive outbound sales activities.

Independently resolves customer issues, errors and problems, escalating when necessary.

Builds working relationships with customers and explains detailed or complicated information.

Requires full proficiency gained through job‑related training to perform a range of activities.

Participates in customer outreach, servicing and advice activities to deliver an unexpectedly human promise.

Engages in conversations with customers about loan products and facilitates application intake.

Maintains an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).

Education & Experience HS Diploma or GED.

1+ years working with customers or in sales, demonstrated through volunteering, education or military experience (preferred).

Teller experience preferred.

Ability to complete teller training upon hire for customer transactions.

Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations while educating them on products and services.

Strong organization skills for handling multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent communication skills: concise, clear and consistent.

Ability to schedule and prioritize work.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Sound judgment in decision‑making and effective problem solving.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Notary License (Preferred).

Customer Accountabilities Deliver legendary experience by building relationships and providing service and advice.

Support the bank’s customer service strategy and deliver end‑to‑end advice.

Advocate for customers and provide proactive tips and insights.

Consistently execute appropriate behaviors to deliver a legendary experience in the store.

Engage in lobby leadership by orchestrating customer flow and guiding initial needs.

Educate customers on self‑service options that meet their banking needs.

Act as an escalation point for customer questions or concerns.

Perform teller transactions (cash, deposits, transfers, withdrawals) while monitoring fraud mitigation and adhering to policies and procedures.

Consider the impact of decisions on the well‑being of TD, its customers and stakeholders.

Act as an internal and external brand champion.

Recognize transaction needs and educate clients on self‑service channels including digital options.

Personalize each banking interaction, one customer at a time.

Shareholder Accountabilities Ensure compliance with operational activities, company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.

Participate in daily operations to align with TD’s risk framework.

Apply operating policies and procedures.

Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.

Escalate non‑standard or high‑risk transactions or activities as necessary.

Maintain accurate documentation that reflects client and business intentions.

Perform due diligence to support transaction accuracy.

Comply with the Bank Code of Conduct.

Contribute to operational excellence by delivering a sound location and understanding accountability.

Execute with excellence by adhering to all risk and control policies and procedures.

OCC Language This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator and Mortgage Loan Originator under the Truth in Lending Act and SAFE Act, requiring NMLS registration.

Eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z.

Eligible for registration as a mortgage loan originator with NMLS in accordance with SAFE Act.

Criminal and credit background checks are required; statements regarding findings are required by federal law.

Physical Requirements

Occasional domestic travel; no international travel. Typical sedentary work with frequent sitting, standing, walking, occasional lifting and reaching. Continuous concentration, standard office equipment usage, and various tasks are required.
