Job Summary

Position: Presidential Engagement Fellows Program – Part‑time, 10‑month fellowship for recent JMU graduates (undergraduate or graduate). Stipend of $14,813 paid over 10 months plus optional housing stipend $500/month. Fellows work an average of 29 hours per week, participate in weekly professional development sessions, and contribute to projects critical to the university’s mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to the university’s Mission, Vision, and Values; promote teamwork and inclusive thinking.
• Create and maintain productive connections between the university and community; serve as an active cohort member.
• Explore personal strengths, develop career options, and pursue experiential learning including life plan goals.
• Gain a working understanding of organizational communication, interconnectedness, and problem solving.

Qualifications

Required: minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and be within one year of graduation from JMU (May 2025, December 2025, or May 2026).

Conditions of Employment

• Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
• Part‑time wage position, up to 29 hours per week, with no benefits.
• Stipend of $14,813 paid over 10 months; optional housing stipend of $500/month.
