About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Research Technology and Infrastructure. The successful candidate will be the senior lead for research infrastructure technology strategy and operations, with a focus on supporting world-class faculty labs and research investigators. This role is pivotal in providing strategic oversight for high-performance computing (HPC), cloud services, and secure data storage and sharing, ensuring alignment with compliance and sponsor requirements. The Executive Director will also be responsible for building and executing research computing infrastructure strategies, serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, and overseeing the design and implementation of cloud computing strategies for data-driven science.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least 10 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in HPC and cloud research computing within an academic medical center or a similarly complex research-intensive institution. Essential skills include strong technical expertise, excellent interpersonal and executive leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects. The role requires a leader with a commitment to end-user satisfaction, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team. The Executive Director will also be expected to ensure that research computing platforms meet institutional and federal compliance standards and to build strategic plans for research cybersecurity and compliance measures.
