We are working with a highly regarded, technology‑driven intellectual property law firm seeking to add an experienced IP Paralegal to support a sophisticated patent and trademark practice. This firm works closely with inventors, engineers, and in‑house legal teams across a wide range of industries and maintains a strong domestic and international IP portfolio. The role is ideal for a paralegal who is deeply comfortable in patent prosecution and trademark work and enjoys being a true extension of the attorney team rather than a task‑only resource.
Responsibilities
Supporting patent prosecution matters from filing through issuance, including preparation, review, and submission of USPTO and foreign filings
Managing and maintaining patent and trademark dockets with a high degree of accuracy
Monitoring deadlines, office actions, and correspondence and proactively flagging issues for attorneys
Preparing and filing patent and trademark applications, amendments, IDSs, assignments, and related documentation
Coordinating with foreign associates on international patent and trademark matters
Assisting with portfolio management for domestic and global clients
Communicating directly with attorneys, patent agents, inventors, and clients
Maintaining organized, audit‑ready IP records and databases
Supporting occasional licensing, enforcement, or litigation‑adjacent IP matters as needed
Qualifications
4+ years of intellectual property paralegal experience in a law firm or sophisticated corporate IP environment
Strong background in patent prosecution; trademark experience strongly preferred
Hands‑on experience working with USPTO filings, deadlines, and procedures
Comfort managing high‑volume, high‑complexity dockets with minimal supervision
Experience coordinating international filings and foreign counsel
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational instincts
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast‑moving IP practice
Nice to Have
Patent prosecution docketing experience
Prior work supporting engineers or technology‑driven clients
Exposure to portfolio strategy or lifecycle management
Experience with patent and trademark databases and IP management systems
Why This Role
Work in a true IP boutique environment with attorneys and professionals who live in this space
High‑level, substantive IP work rather than administrative overflow
Direct access to attorneys and meaningful involvement in matters
Stable, long‑term role with room to grow as the practice expands
Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with experience
