
Senior Leasing Analyst

The Senior Lease Analyst is responsible for the advanced analysis, administration, and oversight of lease agreements and land assets. This role independently interprets complex lease terms, evaluates ownership and title data, and provides actionable recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Senior Lease Analyst serves as a key partner across Geology, Land, Legal, Finance, and Operations, ensuring lease compliance, mitigating risk, and optimizing asset value.
Key Responsibilities
Lease Strategy & Administration
Interpret and analyze complex lease agreements, amendments, and contractual provisions to determine rights, obligations, and risk exposure
Proactively manage lease obligations, expirations, and key provisions, and recommend strategic actions including renewals, extensions, and terminations
Advise internal stakeholders on lease interpretation, compliance requirements, and business implications
Support and influence lease negotiations by providing analytical insights and recommended terms
Land Systems & Data Governance
Own the accuracy, integrity, and governance of lease and land data within land systems
Develop and enhance processes for tracking lease obligations, payments, and contractual requirements
Audit and validate data to ensure consistency and reliability across reporting
Design and deliver reporting tools and dashboards to provide visibility into lease portfolio performance
Lead analysis of title opinions, ownership data, and acreage positions
Identify risks and discrepancies in ownership and drive resolution of title curative issues
Review and approve ownership decks and division of interest calculations
Serve as a subject matter expert on ownership structures and their operational and financial impact
Acquisition & Divestiture Execution
Partner on lease and ownership due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures
Evaluate lease terms, contractual obligations, and ownership structures to identify risks and opportunities
Prepare and present detailed findings, including recommendations, to Director of Land
Oversee data room preparation and ensure completeness and accuracy of transaction materials
Reporting & Strategic Analysis
Develop and deliver comprehensive reports on lease status, obligations, and ownership
Analyze land and lease data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities
Provide insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
Cross-Functional Partnership
Act as a collaborative partner across Geology, Land, Legal, and Permitting & Regulatory teams.
Coordinate with third-party brokers, land teams, and external land service providers to support land projects and development activities
Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in lease analysis, land administration, or related field
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and land management systems
Proven experience interpreting complex lease agreements and ownership data
Valid driver’s license
Experience in oil & gas, energy, mining, or similarly regulated industries preferred
Demonstrated experience leading acquisition and divestiture due diligence
Experience with land systems (e.g., Quorum, P2, or similar platforms)
Membership with the American Association of Professional Landman (AAPL).
The role is structured around a hybrid work environment and will require periodic travel to company offices in Corpus Christi, as well as to project sites and land properties across South Texas and other business locations, as needed to support operations.
