HR Specialist (Contract) - $35-$40/hour

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Specialist to support a dynamic HR team in a fast-paced, high-tech and/or regulated environment. This role will play a key part in delivering end-to-end HR operational support, including pre-employment processes, onboarding, employee lifecycle management, and HR systems administration. The ideal candidate brings experience across both large and small organizations, with a strong preference for those who have worked in the life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Employment & Onboarding
Support pre-employment processes including background checks, offer coordination, and new hire documentation.
Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding programs to ensure a smooth and engaging employee experience.
Partner with hiring managers and cross-functional teams to ensure onboarding timelines and requirements are met.

Employee Lifecycle Management
Manage employee exit processes, including offboarding coordination, exit interviews, and system updates.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Benefits Administration
Provide support for health and welfare benefits programs, including employee inquiries, enrollments, and issue resolution.
Partner with benefits vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of benefits services.

HR Systems & Data Management
Maintain and update HR Information Systems (HRIS) with employee data changes.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all HR records.
Generate and analyze HR reports to support business decisions and compliance needs.

Reporting & Compliance
Assist with regular and ad hoc reporting related to headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics.
Support audits and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Training & Development Coordination
Coordinate training sessions, track employee participation, and maintain training records.
Support the implementation of learning and development initiatives.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent advanced experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience in HR operations within a high-tech and/or regulated environment.
Exposure to both large and small company settings preferred.
Experience in the life sciences industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and HRIS systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems.
