
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS SPECIALIST

Position Overview
Provides professional Human Resources and administrative support with Employee Relations activities including Grievances, Employee Concerns, EEOC Complaints, Disciplinary/Corrective Actions, Medical Separations, and Texas Public Information Act requests and records management. Consults with other HR teams in identifying, anticipating and addressing departmental HR needs.
The Employee Relations Specialist duties include but are not limited to:
Maintains and promotes positive relationships among inter-office as well as inter-departmental employees.
Provides administrative support and coordinate scheduling of grievance meetings, employee concern meetings, interactive meetings, Louder mill meetings and others.
Participates in reviewing and analyzing various Employee Relations activities such as disciplines, suspensions, absences and grievances.
Assists with the preparation, editing, and revision of correspondence, documents, and reports as required.
Processes Grievances, Employee Concerns and ensures compliance of related rules, procedures and timelines.
May attend Louder mill hearings, Medical Separations meetings, Civil Service Commission hearings and Unemployment Hearings.
Interprets policy and procedure to ensure appropriate administration.
Participates in research and analyses to assist in developing reports and projects for client and internal departmental use.
Maintains Employee Relations records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts or a related field.
Experience: One year of professional experience related to human resources.
License: None.

Coordinating Medical Separations / Interactive Meetings
Participating in Unemployment Hearings
Facilitating Policy Training
Valid Drivers License
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
