
Tax Manager - Real Estate

Seeking a Tax Manager with a focus on Real Estate (residential, commercial, industrial, land, and special purpose properties). This role is primarily based in Woodbury, NY, with flexibility for remote or out-of-state candidates. Responsibilities
Manage tax engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met
Develop a strong understanding of client industries and business operations
Prepare, review, and oversee staff work including tax returns, extensions, and planning calculations across all entity types (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships, multi-state, etc.)
Handle complex tax planning projections for individuals and entities
Monitor client deliverables and ensure timely completion
Prepare and review complex U.S. and multi-state/international tax returns, including consolidated entities
Conduct tax research and draft memorandums outlining findings
Represent clients in communications with the IRS and state agencies regarding audits and notices
Delegate work effectively while mentoring and supporting staff
Maintain direct communication with clients, internal teams, and leadership on tax matters
Support business development efforts including client meetings, proposals, and opportunity assessment
Contribute to process improvements, workflow efficiency, and system utilization
Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members
Participate in consulting projects and special initiatives as needed
Report directly to Partners and collaborate on strategic initiatives
Qualifications
CPA or EA required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
7+ years of public accounting experience with exposure to individual, corporate, and partnership taxation
