Description

The Loan Doc Review Specialist is responsible for reviewing of all types of new loan and renewal loan documentation, for commercial, real estate, agricultural, indirect and consumer loans. Documents are reviewed to ensure proper lien perfection and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal loan policy requirements. Specialists enter loan collateral information on the bank's tracking system to track expiration dates and exceptions.

The Loan Doc Review Specialist is also responsible for the tracking and clearing of loan exceptions. Exceptions are cleared from a spreadsheet typically prepared by the lending assistant. Exceptions are also updated through items received in the mail which is processed daily including insurance and auto titles. Specialists prepare an expiring UCC report through Lien Solutions and assist lenders in continuing or terminating the UCC.

Position Summary:
The Loan Servicing Intern will gain experience in servicing systems, state and title requirements, and document governance best practices. This position will assist in remediating title exceptions and ensure accurate lien perfection within the Loan Servicing department.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensure accurate lien perfection by reviewing loan documentation, reviewing title management reports, and confirming that all collateral requirements comply with state and regulatory standards.
Identify and remediate title exceptions promptly to maintain the integrity of loan records and minimize risk exposure for the credit union.
Maintain detailed documentation and audit trails for all title-related activites to support compliance and governance best practices.
Monitor and update servicing systems to reflect corrected title statuses and ensure data accuracy across all platforms.
Process and apply mortgage payments accurately and timely to borrower accounts ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulator requirements.
Prepare and process mortgage satisfaction documents accurately and in compliance with state and regulatory requires to release liens upon loan payoff.
Review and ensure proper indexing and filing of documents within our document imaging system.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies with loan servicing documents.
Supports and completes additional projects as needed

Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Currently attending a college or university and have taken intermediate level courses typically in the third year of study.
