DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position directs social services at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home and ensures that residents receive support that meets their personal and emotional needs. The role focuses on supervising staff, coordinating care activities, and guiding programs that uphold quality standards. As a Social Worker Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
Department Leadership:
Oversee social services operations, set standards, and direct staff responsibilities to support residents
Care Coordination:
Manage assessments, admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring accurate documentation
Team Collaboration:
Participate in interdisciplinary planning and integrate psychosocial assessments into care plans
Grievance Management:
Guide the investigation and follow through of resident grievances according to facility policies
Resident Counseling:
Provide individual or group counseling using supportive and therapeutic techniques
Committee Participation:
Represent the department on committees and support program development and staff training

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Social Worker 2 or a Forensic Social Worker 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); and a master's degree in social work or social welfare;
or
Three years of professional social work experience, including one year in a consultative, administrative, advisory, or lead work capacity; and a master's degree in social work or social welfare.
Condition of Employment:
You must be in possession of a valid license as a Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
