DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the total care of residents and supervision of nursing care. You will use effective organizational skills and leadership to ensure adequate staffing to meet the essential care needs of residents. Duties will include:
- Assisting nursing staff with treatment, medications, and daily implementation of health care activities
- Evaluating the delivery of health services in quality of care and quality of life areas
- Observing resident conditions and reporting changes to appropriate staff
- Monitoring daily documentation, care plans, and resident assessments
- Communicating with facility managers, supervisors, health services personnel, visitors, volunteers, and family members
- Identifying and correcting safety and health hazards for residents and staff
- Obtaining medical equipment and supplies necessary to meet resident needs
- Reviewing employee performance, coordinating training needs, and providing developmental coaching and counseling

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating weekends and holidays.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
- DMVA is pleased to announce the launch of a Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania's veterans homes. Under this program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments of up to $4,000.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
