About the Job
A well‑established company in Skokie is looking for a Senior Accountant to take primary ownership of inventory‑related accounting and COGS accuracy. The role supports month‑end close, reconciliation work, and analysis tied to inventory activity and cost movements.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and reconcile inventory, costing, and COGS accounts across multiple sites
• Perform month-end close entries, accruals, and balance sheet recs for all inventory-related areas
• Analyze variances, landed cost impacts, manufacturing adjustments, and margin drivers
• Support audit and tax schedules tied to inventory and production activity
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and purchasing to validate transactions and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with process reviews, ERP data accuracy, and item-level costing updates
Qualifications
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of corporate accounting with strong Inventory/COGS exposure or mix with public accounting audit/accounting
• ERP experience (D365, SAP B1, Oracle, JDE, or similar)
• Advanced Excel
