Position Overview
The Field Electrician (I&E Technician) is responsible for supporting daily oil and gas production operations through the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems in upstream field environments.
This role is strictly for candidates with direct oil and gas field experience. The position works at well sites, tank batteries, and production facilities to ensure all electrical, control, and automation systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Core Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across oil & gas production facilities
Troubleshoot electrical issues on pump jacks, motors, VFDs, compressors, and artificial lift systems
Maintain and troubleshoot Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and power distribution systems
Install and maintain control panels, field wiring, and instrumentation systems
Perform electrical maintenance on tank batteries, separators, heaters, and LACT units
Diagnose issues using multimeters, meggers, and field diagnostic tools
Maintain and troubleshoot SCADA systems and field automation equipment
Calibrate and service instrumentation (pressure, temperature, level transmitters)
Support well hookups, facility construction, and production optimization projects
Ensure compliance with oilfield safety standards and company policies
Document all maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
Qualifications
Required (Non-Negotiable)
3+ years of hands-on electrical experience specifically in oil & gas field operations
Proven experience working on well sites, tank batteries, and production facilities
Strong knowledge of three-phase power, AC/DC systems, and oilfield production equipment
Experience troubleshooting pump jacks, VFDs, compressors, and motors in oilfield settings
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and field wiring diagrams
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote field locations

Experience with SCADA, PLCs, and automation systems
Electrical license or certification
Experience with artificial lift systems and production optimization
