Position Overview
A growing multi-state truck and trailer dealership platform is seeking an experienced executive leader to oversee strategic, operational, and financial performance across its network. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth across sales, service, and parts while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience.
The ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise within truck and trailer dealerships, experience leading multi-location operations, and a consistent track record of achieving profitability and growth targets. This individual will play a key role in scaling the business, optimizing operations, and positioning the organization as a market leader.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy aligned with growth, profitability, and customer experience objectives
• Evaluate market trends, competitive positioning, and customer demand to identify expansion opportunities
• Strengthen brand presence and represent the organization at industry events, trade associations, and key customer engagements
Sales & Customer Experience
• Lead revenue generation initiatives across new and used equipment sales, service, parts, and aftermarket offerings
• Establish and achieve sales targets, margin goals, and performance metrics across all locations
• Enhance customer engagement through CRM optimization and best-in-class service practices
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet operators, commercial clients, and key accounts
Operations & Financial Performance
• Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple locations, ensuring alignment across sales, service, parts, and inventory
• Manage full P&L responsibility with a focus on profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory turnover, reduce waste, and improve service delivery
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards
Leadership & Talent Development
• Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams across sales, operations, and support functions
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus
• Implement training and development programs to strengthen technical, operational, and commercial capabilities
• Promote employee engagement, retention, and a strong performance-driven culture
Inventory & Vendor Management
• Oversee inventory strategy to balance availability, demand, and carrying costs across all product lines
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and service partners
• Negotiate purchasing agreements and ensure consistent product quality and availability
• Monitor inventory performance metrics and adjust strategies based on market demand
Innovation & Market Adaptation
• Identify and implement technology solutions including CRM systems, digital sales tools, and data analytics platforms
• Stay ahead of industry trends, evolving customer preferences, and competitive dynamics
• Lead initiatives focused on operational innovation and sustainability within transportation and fleet services
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Automotive Management, or related field preferred
• 10+ years of senior leadership experience within truck, trailer, automotive, or dealership operations
• Proven success managing multi-location operations with full P&L accountability
• Strong understanding of dealership functions including sales, service, parts, finance, and inventory management
• Experience utilizing dealership management systems (DMS), CRM platforms, and performance analytics tools
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, improve margins, and enhance customer satisfaction
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Travel
• Approximately 50% travel required to support multiple locations and ongoing growth initiatives
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Occasional bending, lifting, and movement of materials up to 25 pounds
• Regular use of computer systems, phone, and other standard office equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively in both in-person and remote settings
