Job Summary
The Hybrid Cloud Engineer will be part of the Server Operations Team and will be responsible for the design, evaluation, and implementation of cloud services and cloud-native application architectures. This role involves troubleshooting hybrid infrastructure issues and ensuring secure, compliant cloud platform operations across connected environments.
The engineer will support day-to-day infrastructure operations, including managing approximately 1800 servers across Dell hardware and virtual environments on Hyper-V.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design, build, management, and operation of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) across hosted and cloud platforms
Implement cloud services based on business needs
Define and ensure compliance and security standards for cloud infrastructure
Integrate cloud services with on-premise resources
Coordinate and configure IT infrastructure services for web application platforms
Design templates to standardize cloud infrastructure
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to resolve issues
Handle incident and problem management, including second/third-level support
Identify opportunities for system and process improvements
Act as a technical provider manager in a mixed operational environment
Participate in cross-training within the team
Print Server & Infrastructure Support
Manage day-to-day print server provisioning
Monitor and resolve print server alerts
Support application teams with print server software installations
Work with third-party vendors for support and recommendations
Maintain server asset database entries
Participate in Windows Server on-call rotation (24x7 support for emergencies)
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
AWS SysOps Administrator
Experience & Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with
API Management and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Strong cross-functional knowledge (network, database, web services, AI, infrastructure)
Understanding of cloud delivery models:
PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS
Experience with
OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes, microservices, and cloud architecture
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (Eclipse, Git/Stash, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus)
5+ years of experience with Windows Server (2008–2022) in a Hyper-V / System Center Virtual Machine Manager environment
Experience with Microsoft Failover Clustering, OS patching, migrations, and Azure administration
Preferred Skills
Database knowledge
Programming/scripting (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, C#)
Key Competencies
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills
Ability to manage conflict and facilitate discussions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Ability to understand and communicate business and customer priorities effectively
Self-starter with the ability to independently drive tasks to completion
Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies
Additional Requirements
Ability to work in a hybrid environment with secure access via CPS VDI
Participation in on-call rotation for server support (24x7 coverage as needed)
