Plant Accounting Manager
Manufacturing Environment | Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced
Plant Accounting Manager
to join a well-established manufacturing organization that is part of a larger, nationally recognized consumer products company.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting individual who enjoys combining
cost accounting
with
general accounting , and who thrives in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze journal entries, general ledger activity, and monthly financial statements
Perform monthly account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing and operational costs
Establish and maintain standard costs of goods; lead annual cost reviews
Generate monthly financial reports for leadership and external stakeholders
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Manage daily banking transactions and petty cash reconciliations
Prepare and file monthly tax returns
Support internal and external audits with documentation and analysis
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Provide strategic cost insights to support leadership decision-making
Assist with accounting system enhancements and internal control improvements
Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum
4+ years
of accounting or cost accounting experience (manufacturing preferred)
Sage accounting software experience is a plus
