Senior Server and Cloud Administrator- Azure (Sterling Heights)

This senior-level position will manage and perform activities related to the design, installation, operation, optimization, troubleshooting, maintenance and protection of the companies’ physical and virtual server infrastructure and associated applications both on-premise and in the cloud.
This position is fully onsite in Sterling Heights, MI
PRIMARY DUTIES/TECHNOLOGIES SUPPORTED:
Windows Server – Versions 2016 and higher. Active Directory/ADDS, Group Policy, Print + File Servers, Remote Desktop, IIS, Failover Clustering
Develop, support and maintain companies’ Azure posture
Microsoft 365 – Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, InTune
VMware ESXi/vCenter/VCF
Veeam Backup & Recovery and/or Veeam Data Cloud
Deploy OS/platform upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches
Report on various performance metrics
Create documentation for system configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
Conduct research on emerging products, services and technologies
Participate in constant cross-training with other engineers
Participate in an on-call rotation with a team of other engineers
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
At least 5-7 years working in a 150+ server, 24x7x365 environment
Strong familiarity with networking topics such as TCP/IP, basic routing/switching and firewalls
Experience opening and fielding high-level support cases with vendors
Experience with backup management, lifecycle and long-term retention methodologies
Experience with certificate management and/or automation
Experience with Disaster Recovery planning, deployment and testing
Familiarity with both batch and PowerShell scripting
Experience supporting Linux in a production environment a plus
Excellent written and verbal skills
Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have a team-oriented attitude
This position will require work outside of regular business hours but scheduling is flexible. Travel is minimal but short-distance travel in the Metro Detroit area may be required.
