Principal System Administrator Windows or Linux

What You Will Do:

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.

Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including integration of hardware and operating systems.

Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management.

Engage in cross-team collaboration and align with expectations of the leadership team.

Design, develop, and deploy containers.

Participate in all phases of engineering software installation and support, emphasizing testing, documentation, and acceptance phases.

Manage ESXi, vCenter, and Microsoft Windows domains.

Work with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.

Handle hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption, and server management tools.

Perform data backup and restore using industry best practices.

Install and configure software applications requested by end users.

Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.

Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within six months of start date.

Ensure systems operate 24x7, occasionally requiring work beyond standard hours.

Travel within the U.S. as business needs dictate, up to 10% per year.

Full-time, 100% onsite position.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.

Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data.

Experience with cloning techniques.

Use and guidance of automation tools such as Ansible.

Experience with operating system concepts and implementations.

Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (user and computer objects, Group Policy).

Experience with network services related to a Microsoft Windows environment (DC, DNS, DHCP).

Experience supporting desktop/workstation hardware.

Experience using an IT incident/service request system.

What We Offer:
Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD. Compensation may vary by role, function, experience, location, education, and key skills.
