Data and Cloud Solutions Architect (Fully Onsite)
Length: 6 month contract (potential extension)
Locations: San Jose, CA 95110
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data and Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based data solutions. This role requires strong hands‑on experience in data engineering, distributed computing, and Azure cloud architecture. The ideal candidate can translate complex data architectures into clear diagrams and documentation to guide implementation and knowledge sharing across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Data Architecture Design & Strategy
Design and implement secure, scalable cloud‑based data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes.
Drive the selection and integration of cloud data services (storage, databases, analytics tools).
Develop comprehensive cloud data strategies aligned with business objectives.
Diagramming & Documentation
Create clear, informative diagrams (data flow diagrams, ER diagrams, system architecture visuals) to guide teams.
Maintain detailed documentation of architecture, design decisions, and processes.
Hands‑on Implementation & Optimization
Contribute directly to the implementation of cloud data solutions.
Identify and implement performance optimization strategies for data systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, data quality, and data accessibility issues.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s of Engineering in Computer Science (degrees in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, IT, or other branches will not be considered).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands‑on data engineering using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, MapReduce, or DataBricks.
Proven experience designing and implementing cloud‑based data solutions in Azure.
Deep understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques.
Strong proficiency with relational and non‑relational databases.
Exceptional diagramming skills using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
