Senior Network Engineer - Manufacturing OT Networks
Reason for Opening and Position Overview
The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in redesigning and modernizing plant level IT and OT networks with a strong emphasis on security segmentation resiliency and performance. The ideal candidate has deep experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments and is comfortable working directly with plant operations and process engineering teams.
Manufacturing environments similar to industrial energy or heavy manufacturing operations are ideal backgrounds for this role.
Day to Day Responsibilities and Deliverables
Assess current state plant IT and OT network architectures across multiple manufacturing sites
Design and implement future state plant network architectures including IT and OT segmentation
Break apart and rationalize legacy or flat networks to improve security posture resiliency performance and availability
Configure and deploy VLANs, routing, switching and firewalls in OT environments
Implement secure connectivity between IT and OT domains
Partner closely with process engineering teams, plant operations, controls engineers and infrastructure and security leadership
Perform hands‑on implementation of network changes in live manufacturing environments
Establish and document repeatable standards and best practices for plant networking
Support remediation of operational issues and network related incidents
Contribute to long term standardization efforts across all plant locations

Hands‑on implementation and troubleshooting in production settings
Experience supporting plant floor systems and process engineering teams
Must Have Qualifications
Extensive hands‑on experience in manufacturing and OT network environments
Cisco ecosystem proficiency including switches and wireless access points
Palo Alto firewall experience
Ability to quickly assess legacy environments, bring order to chaos and establish standards
Ability to work independently with minimal ramp up
Ability to travel up to 25% to manufacturing plants in the US and Mexico
Nice to Have Skills
SolarWinds or similar network monitoring tools
AWS Direct Connect experience
Familiarity with Cisco AI‑driven network management tools
Ideal Candidate Profile
Senior level network engineer or architect with deep OT experience
Comfortable working directly on plant floors and in live production environments
Execution focused, pragmatic and outcome‑driven
Experienced in modernizing legacy manufacturing networks without disrupting operations
