Alexander Technology Group is seeking a Network Engineer for a Boston based company.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable hybrid network architectures across on‑prem and AWS (VPCs, security groups, routing, hybrid connectivity).
Maintain and optimize enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, APs) in high‑availability environments.
Troubleshoot complex production network issues with minimal disruption.
Automate infrastructure using Terraform and related tools.
Implement network security controls, segmentation, and firewall policies.
Document network topology and perform analysis of existing infrastructure.
Lead infrastructure projects and act as a client‑facing networking expert.
Required Qualifications
5–10 years of hands‑on network engineering experience with ability to work independently.
Strong expertise in IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs (IPSec), BGP, and OSPF.
Experience with AWS networking (VPC design, routing, hybrid connectivity) and Terraform.
Background managing enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and access points in HA environments.
Experience with Windows Server, Ubuntu Server, and packet analysis tools (Wireshark).
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; comfortable with second‑level on‑call support.
Preferred
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty.
Experience with Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or Grafana.
Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco firewall experience.
VMware or Hyper‑V experience (including virtualization migrations).
Familiarity with SCADA protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPCUA, ICCP).
Experience in energy, critical infrastructure, or startup environments.
Infrastructure project management experience.
Location: Boston, MA
Pay Scale: $110,000 - $130,000
