
Electrical Engineer - Industrial Systems (Santa Ana)

Pure Aqua, Inc. is a global manufacturer of reverse osmosis and water treatment systems serving industrial, commercial, and municipal clients worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team and support the electrical design and automation for RO systems, filtration plants, containerized systems, and custom water treatment solutions.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
Design electrical systems and control panels for industrial equipment.
Generate electrical drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts).
Develop and review IO lists based on P&IDs.
Develop control logic, interlocks, alarms, and automation sequences based on P&IDs.
Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC & HMI systems for Pure Aqua equipment (RO, UF/MF, filtration, chemical dosing).
Configure instrumentation (flowmeters, pressure sensors, level sensors, etc.).
Configure industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).
Support control panel design, build, testing, generate IO lists, and engineering documentation.
Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and onsite commissioning.
Provide technical support to production, service teams, and customers as needed.
Assist with system commissioning (remote or onsite as needed).
Maintain and improve standard electrical and controls design practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience (preferably in industrial design or industrial manufacturing).
Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View or similar HMI platforms.
Understanding of pumps, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and process control.
Ability to read and create P&IDs, electrical schematics, and panel drawings.
Willingness to travel (10–20%) for commissioning and customer support.
Preferred Experience
Reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, softeners, or containerized treatment plants.
Experience writing FAT/SAT documents and start-up procedures.
Familiarity with UL 508A, NFPA 79, and control panel standards.
SCADA or data-logging experience (Ignition, Wonderware, WinCC).
