Role Overview
The Lead Automation Network Engineer for Load Balancing is a senior technical leadership role responsible for the strategy, design, automation, and operation of large‑scale, highly available application delivery and load balancing platforms. This role focuses on enabling resilient, scalable, and secure connectivity through automated, data‑driven solutions. The engineer will serve as a technical authority, guiding the evolution of traffic management platforms while driving automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategy, architecture, and design of enterprise load balancing and application delivery solutions.
Define scalable traffic management architectures that align with evolving application and security requirements.
Act as a subject matter expert for Layer 4–7 technologies, including load balancing, SSL/TLS, and DNS‑based traffic steering.
Design and implement automation‑first solutions for load balancing platforms using Python, Ansible, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code principles.
Develop standardized workflows for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of load balancing services.
Leverage network and application data models as authoritative sources of truth (SoT) to maintain configuration integrity.
Ensure continuous availability, performance, and resilience of application delivery services.
Investigate and resolve complex load balancing and traffic management issues.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent through work, training, education, or military experience.
5+ years of experience developing automation for network or application delivery platforms using Python and Ansible.
Hands‑on experience with load balancing, application delivery technologies (Layer 4/7), and Git.
Strong understanding of network data, data modeling, data sources, and Source‑of‑Truth (SoT) concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with load balancer automation, orchestration, and automated testing frameworks.
Experience managing network and application delivery data using systems such as ServiceNow or Nautobot.
Proficiency with API‑driven infrastructure, including REST APIs and GraphQL.
Experience with JINJA, JSON, REST, YAML, YANG, and related data technologies.
Familiarity with Django ORM and structured data backends.
Experience with Git‑based workflows, CI/CD tooling, and integrations.
Experience operating in a large, complex, and regulated enterprise environment.
Experience authoring and maintaining technical architecture and design documentation.
