Job Title
Civil Design Group Manager – Columbus, OH
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple design teams in daily operations.
Develop staffing needs and distribute work to balance workloads.
Work with team leaders/project managers to monitor scope, schedule, budget, and overall health of projects.
Monitor group workload, utilization, and billable hours.
Collaborate with Civil Service Line leaders to identify additional staffing needs (training, personnel).
Mentor staff while executing office and company growth plan.
Prepare proposals/ contracts and manage projects.
Successfully manage and deliver work tasks on time.
Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across services such as Surveying, Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Landscape Architecture, Funding Strategies/Grant Writing, and Construction Administration.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Proven record of managing multiple civil design engineers or teams, projects, and disciplines.
Proven management process/style.
Willingness to mentor and teach younger staff.
Private development experience.
