Our client, a leading provider of environmental containment, water treatment, and site access solutions, is seeking a
Senior Accountant
to support the accounting and financial reporting needs of a growing organization.
Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial information, maintaining accounting records in accordance with GAAP, and supporting internal controls, audits, and compliance activities. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process and provides analytical insight to support business decision-making.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities by preparing analyses, tracking variances, and providing commentary
Compile and provide supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors during annual audits
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including support of tax filings and regulatory submissions
Monitor accounts receivable activity and assist with collection efforts to ensure timely cash receipts
Monitor accounts payable activity to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments
Analyze financial data related to costs, operations, and performance trends, and communicate findings to management
Support and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures designed to safeguard company assets and ensure reporting accuracy
Qualifications
3+ years' of professional accounting experience
Experience with project-related accounting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA preferred (but not required)
