The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Media Communications & Technology with a discipline emphasis on technical, foundational animation production. The department offers courses in animation, audio, film/media history, graphic/motion design, multimedia/interactive production, video, and web design, and provides transfer articulation to the University of Cincinnati’s Uptown campus for a BFA degree.
Essential Functions
- Teach four hands‑on, technical courses per semester, such as Animation I & II, Animation Foundations, Drawing for Animation, 3D Graphics & Motion, and History of Animation.
- Engage in professional development activities such as training, education, and exercising your craft within the discipline.
- Conduct research, scholarship, and creative activities including professional publication and exhibition.
- Participate in department, college, and university service, including committee work.
- Participate in program assessment, review, and other program development activities.
Minimum Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in Animation, Game Arts, or a closely related discipline.
- Three years of demonstrated professional experience in animation, showing proficiency in current industry methods, technologies, and practices. This experience must have included:
- Production experience in animation (3 years)
- Use of Principles of Animation (3 years)
- Use of industry‑standard animation software to produce animations (3 years)
- Use of digital tools and physical media (3 years)
- Three academic years of college‑level teaching in animation, which may have been on a part‑time basis.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Information: $63,000
- Comprehensive tuition remission for the candidate and eligible dependents.
