Equipment Setup And Test Technician

Responsibilities
Position will set up and perform manual, automated, and environmental performance testing on Smurfit Westrock equipment based on applicable packaging test standards while following strict timelines
Performance of these tests must be precise, with the monitoring of test controls, effective documentation, and communication of the results both verbally and with formal test reports
Individuals will collect dimensional measurements on mechanical and electronic measurement equipment and document appropriately
Other responsibilities include the ability to oversee and maintain the condition, maintenance, orderliness, and calibration of the Testing Department
Generate detailed, accurate reports that will be used to make key business decisions on a range of Smurfit Westrock packaged product lines
Self-starter in completing daily testing and reporting and ability to multi-task
What You Need To Succeed:
2 + years of experience in mechanical assembly operations
Able to read blueprints and technical drawings
Strong mechanical skills
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision
Willing to learn modern technologies, equipment, and procedures through on-the-job training
Support design, construction and calibration of new and existing test fixtures and equipment
Moderate PC skills, i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft apps
Technical degree is a plus, but not required
High school diploma or equivalent
Can work additional overtime and 10-to-12-hour shifts if required
