The Demand Planning Senior Analyst is responsible for producing an unconstrained demand plan for a defined customer portfolio and geographical region(s) within the Smurfit Westrock Corrugated Packaging division. This role combines advanced analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic insight to support integrated business planning and long-term growth. The Demand Planning Senior Analyst directly impacts supply plans, inventory optimization, customer service levels, and working capital performance by ensuring accurate and actionable demand forecasts.
The Demand Planning Senior Analyst reports directly to the Senior Director of Supply Chain and collaborates closely with the Demand Planning Center of Excellence (CoE).
Responsibilities
Develop and align monthly demand forecasts for a 1–24-month horizon, ensuring accuracy and alignment with key stakeholders
Facilitate monthly demand review meetings with cross-functional stakeholders, presenting forecast insights, key performance indicators, and strategic recommendations to senior business leaders to support data‑driven decision‑making
Deliver actionable insights through data analysis and KPI reporting to support business decisions and continuous improvement
Measure and improve forecast accuracy, bias, and error through ongoing performance tracking and root‑cause analysis
Analyze historical sales trends, market dynamics, and customer behavior to inform statistical forecast models and improve demand signal accuracy
Incorporate near‑term demand signals where appropriate to improve short‑term forecast responsiveness
Work closely with Demand Planning and Supply Chain Leadership to validate inputs, run scenario models, and recommend improvements to forecast accuracy and bias
Incorporate NPI and pipeline opportunity intelligence into demand forecast assumptions by partnering with Commercial to understand customer‑specific drivers, timing, and conversion likelihood across the planning horizon
Contribute to the continuous improvement and refinement of IBP processes, ensuring alignment between demand, supply and financial planning
Support the implementation of unified planning tools and processes aligned with enterprise strategy and act as a subject‑matter expert to support enhancements
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics; manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Proficiency in advanced planning systems (e.g., o9, Blue Yonder, OMP, Kinaxis) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) strongly preferred
Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical forecasting and scenario modeling
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience with S&OP or Integrated Business Planning processes
Analytical and able to logically process information to produce insights in a consumable format; aggregates, cleanses, and disseminates data in structured formats to support better business decisions and improved performance
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced and deadline‑oriented environment
