Oportunidad
Responsible for all activities associated with assisting the machine operator, including configuration, operation, cleaning and recommending improvements in operations.
Cmo impactar a Smurfit Westrock
Configuring precisely and efficiently all machinery operations in accordance with proper configuration techniques and our standardized process.
Loading corrugated sheets into the machine's feeding section or downloading finished products.
Minimizing material waste (sheets or corrugated sheets).
Operating the machine correctly to ensure efficient operation and quality product production.
Optimizing the utilization of production equipment by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
Helping in the training of other helpers in all work tasks.
Continuously learning to manufacture and produce a variety of box styles.
Verifying the quality of boxes throughout the manufacturing process, carefully monitoring to avoid defects.
Completing necessary manufacturing and production reports accurately and timely.
Maintaining Smurfit Westrock's priority hierarchy of safety, quality, cost and productivity.
Completing and sending maintenance work orders to supervision for necessary machine repairs and/or updates.
Adopting a proactive approach to maintenance, cleaning and general maintenance of assigned equipment.
Complying with the production schedule and making recommendations to optimize the schedule in order to meet cost, quality and service objectives. In addition, reporting any unusual scheduling problems to the supervisor.
Complying with all company policies and procedures while defending the values of integrity, respect, responsibility and excellence of Smurfit Westrock.
Performing additional tasks assigned by management.
Maintaining and improving our number one priority of safety.
Offering technical experience with the safe operation of manufacturing equipment.
Participating proactively in continuous improvement initiatives, with the goal of meeting and/or exceeding production, quality and cost objectives.
Maintaining a proactive productivity and customer-focused approach.
Lo que necesita para triunfar
Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Previous work experience in the corrugated cardboard industry is preferable.
Ability to read a standard tape measure quickly and accurately.
Ability to read and understand work instructions, procedures, or assembly manuals in Spanish and preferably also in English.
Ability to communicate in writing with basic information during simple correspondence preparation or standard reports.
Ability to apply high school math concepts such as calculating percentages, measurements, volume and rate.
Ability to solve problems constructively, maintain positive and proactive behaviors and maintain a safe work environment.
Teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position.
Availability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
