Vertical/Horizontal CNC Machinist

Position Overview:

Gilman Precision is seeking a skilled Vertical/Horizontal CNC Machinist to join our 1st shift team. This role includes machine setup, operation, and part inspection on both vertical and horizontal machining centers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and experienced in precision machining environments.

What You'll Do:

• Set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers
• Load programs, adjust offsets, and make minor edits as needed
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain tolerances
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions (preferred)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Required Qualifications:

• Experience operating CNC machining centers (vertical and/or horizontal)
• Setup experience, including tooling and fixturing
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on both vertical and horizontal machines
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Background in precision or tight-tolerance machining
