Job Overview
Network Operations Team manages the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of the campus network infrastructure including both wired and wireless connectivity.
Incumbent is responsible for independently designing, implementing, and maintaining the campus network infrastructure and relevant network operations supporting systems. This includes, but is not limited to, the campus WAN connectivity, data centers hosted on and off premises, campus wired and wireless network infrastructure, and remote sites. Incumbent coordinates with CSU system wide entities, campus departments, and groups within IITS to ensure that the network is designed, implemented, and operated in an efficient, secure, and effective way. Incumbent is responsible for assessing the integration requirements and identifying the vendor responsibilities for the provision of products and services. Incumbent recommends and integrates network management tools, as well as designs and implements custom tools and scripts to assist in network management. Incumbent troubleshoots complex network problems and independently develops solutions to network configuration and integration issues. Incumbent is also responsible for running diagnostics to forecast performance thresholds and to resolve Physical, Datalink and Network layer conflicts with campus voice/data network systems and the protocols they use.

This is a full-time, exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.
Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $6,492 - $7,914 per month (step 1 - step 11)
CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,492 - $9,458 per month
Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year; 14 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
