DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on maintaining and repairing building systems that keep facilities safe and functional. The work involves a wide variety of hands-on tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other trades. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
General Maintenance:
Perform repairs and upkeep on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building systems
Painting Work:
Prepare surfaces and apply paint to interior and exterior areas
System Monitoring:
Check heating, cooling, temperature controls, and automated building systems
Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in facility maintenance
Grounds Care:
Remove snow, mow grass, and maintain outdoor areas
Record Keeping:
Track work completed and maintain lists of materials used

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades;
or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
You must obtain and maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
Experience in the commercial carpentry trade
Experience in the electrical trade
Experience in the plumbing trade
Experience working with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
Experience working with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters
Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings
Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
