DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on maintaining and repairing building systems that keep facilities safe and functional. The work involves a wide variety of hands-on tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other trades. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

• General Maintenance: Perform repairs and upkeep on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building systems
• Painting Work: Prepare surfaces and apply paint to interior and exterior areas
• System Monitoring: Check heating, cooling, temperature controls, and automated building systems
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in facility maintenance
• Grounds Care: Remove snow, mow grass, and maintain outdoor areas
• Record Keeping: Track work completed and maintain lists of materials used

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

• You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

  
  

Additional Requirements:

• You must obtain and maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
• Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
• Experience in the commercial carpentry trade
• Experience in the electrical trade
• Experience in the plumbing trade
• Experience working with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
• Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
• Experience working with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters<
