DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on maintaining and repairing building systems that keep facilities safe and functional. The work involves a wide variety of hands-on tasks across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other trades. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- General Maintenance: Perform repairs and upkeep on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building systems
- Painting Work: Prepare surfaces and apply paint to interior and exterior areas
- System Monitoring: Check heating, cooling, temperature controls, and automated building systems
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in facility maintenance
- Grounds Care: Remove snow, mow grass, and maintain outdoor areas
- Record Keeping: Track work completed and maintain lists of materials used

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
- You must obtain and maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience in the commercial carpentry trade
- Experience in the electrical trade
- Experience in the plumbing trade
- Experience working with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
- Experience working with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats, and instantaneous water heaters<
