Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is hiring a twelve-month, non-tenure track Collegiate Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty member in the University Libraries for the Coles College of Business. The preferred start date is July 2026. The role will be based in Georgia and will serve both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Location

Kennesaw campus: 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Marietta campus: 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in research and information literacy for both face-to-face and online classes.
  • Foster relationships with faculty to incorporate library instruction into courses in multifaceted ways.
  • Develop and maintain digital or physical instructional materials to support subject disciplines and individual courses.
  • Develop academic enrichment opportunities to support advanced student and faculty research.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with KSU units, departments, centers, etc. that support student and faculty research efforts and collection development. Support university research teams’ activities and initiatives.
  • Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship and advanced research support.
  • Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession.
  • Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

Because libraries are open 7 days a week and in the evenings, this position may occasionally require work during these times to serve students. The candidate will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Required Qualifications

  • An earned terminal degree in an academic library, such as an MLIS, or equivalent foreign degree required at the time of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of one year of instruction experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working as a librarian in an academic library, related institution, or equivalent.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • A record of professional service.
  • A record of developing scholarship within academic librarianship or a subject specialty.
