Position Opening Temporary Children’s Library Assistant
Responsibilities:
Assist patrons at the circulation desk, processing materials, issuing cards, and verifying circulation information.
Assists patrons in locating materials, copying, computer work, etc., answers simple reference questions, and refers customers to reference librarians.
Answers telephone, provides information, and assists customers by phone.
Collects fines for lost and damaged materials and reconciles records.
Ensures materials on shelves are in the proper order promptly.
Ensures there are proper supplies for the operation of the children’s library.
Communicates with other staff members and functions as a team player.
Maintains positive communication and rapport with staff, customers, and external organizations.
Performs opening and closing duties.
Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Hours : 18 - 26hours/week
Shift flexibility required:
Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Every 3rd Saturday, 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
Hourly Wage :$16.37/hour
PTO: Prorated to hours worked
Sick Leave: Prorated to hours worked
Desired Minimum Training and Experience
A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Excellent customer service skills and experience working with various software applications are also required.
