Position Title: Student Position – Library Helpdesk, Department of Student Services, Sheridan. Hiring Year: 2026‑2027 academic year. Tentatively 5‑8 positions. Flexible work hours based on schedule. Hourly Rate: $12.00.
Job Summary
This position’s main purpose is customer service in the library related to all circulation aspects of the library.
Responsibilities
Staff the circulation desk in the library. This includes some evening and weekend hours.
Shelve returned and used items.
Help library patrons locate items in the library collection.
Assist library patrons with basic technology and equipment use.
Assist with programming and outreach activities.
Provide customer service to students, faculty, and the community.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Good conduct and academic standing with the college.
Sheridan College student currently enrolled.
Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficiency with computer and technology: MS Office, Canvas.
Ability to be self‑motivated and prioritize work duties and responsibilities.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work area is inside in a public service area.
Able to bend low, reach overhead, and lift up to 35 pounds.
