This individual will oversee departmental operations and staff, and provide administrative support for the department. Provide input and recommendations to advise the Chairperson. Administer budgets; coordinate faculty recruitment and advancement; oversee academic staffing; ensure the Department runs smoothly and orderly; assist faculty, students and staff with their administrative needs; supervise logistics for departmental events; coordinate external visitors visits./ppRequired Education: Bachelors Degree/ppRequired Experience: 3+ years relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising departmental operations and staff and administering budgets./ppPreferred Experience: Experience in higher education or non-profit environment./ppRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to provide advice, problem solve, and interact with individuals at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software./ppPreferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Fluency in French strongly preferred./ppIn compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000 to USD $75,000.
