Machine Utility

The Machine Utility is responsible for supporting the operation of manufacturing equipment. This includes feeding materials into machines and assisting machine operators and helpers with a wide range of duties to ensure production runs smoothly and safely. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient workflow and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with the setup and operation of production machinery, focusing on feeding materials (such as paperboard or other materials) into the equipment.
  2. Provide support to machine operators and helpers with various tasks to ensure a smooth and continuous workflow.
  3. Help ensure all orders are produced with the correct materials and meet quality specifications.
  4. Assist in monitoring and recording material consumption and production data.
  5. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve quality, productivity, and safety targets.
  6. Adhere to the daily production schedule and assist in optimizing processes to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  7. Proactively identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs to supervision.
  8. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient at reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written, oral, or graphic instructions.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
    • Frequently uses hands to handle or feel objects and reaches with hands and arms.
    • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: The role is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, and loud noise.
