Business Development Manager – Military – Germany The Business Development Manager will focus on expanding Facet’s military market share, driving sales growth and prospecting new customers across the defense sector. This role involves the strategic expansion and optimization of equipment and spare parts sales for both military aviation and naval forces, leveraging NATO databases to identify opportunities. The manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders—including Navies, OEMs, and refineries—while developing and managing a robust distribution network.
Covering the full sales lifecycle, the candidate will oversee everything from initial quotation to commissioning and aftermarket services, under the supervision of the Refined Fuels Sales Manager. Key responsibilities include monitoring market trends, reporting on regional price levels, and analyzing competitor activity. The ideal candidate must possess strong negotiation skills within defined authority limits and be capable of monitoring project management in close coordination with internal departments to ensure seamless execution.
JOB PURPOSE
Develop Facet’s military market, grow sales, prospect new customers
Expansion of the sale of equipment and spare parts for military aviation
Expansion and optimization of the sale of spare parts for the Navy
Use of NATO databases
Build relationship with the key customers (Military, Navies, OEMs, Oil companies, Refineries, …)
Develop distribution network, manage existing channel partners and find new ones
Responsible for all aspects of the sales process from quotation to commissioning and aftermarket, with refined fuels sales manager’s supervision & approval
Understand and report the market needs and price level in the region
Be able to negotiate sales prices & discounts within his authority limits
Monitor competition
Able to monitor project management in coordination with internal departments
MAIN DUTIES
Lead and manage the sales activities
Able to prepare/finalize/localize technical & commercial quotations
Follow up Leads & Quotations using a CRM
Build relationships with key customers for Aviation fuels and Power generation
Build relationships with potential agents/distributors
Develop strong knowledge of Facet military portfolio (internal training provided)
Cooperate with colleagues in other departments/entities, establish strong relationship with internal departments to get the needed commercial, technical a logistic support
Make contact, find new customers to develop market coverage and market share
Prepare weekly, monthly booking reports, sales activity reports
EDUCATION, PROFILE AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent sales profile, “doors opener”
German mother tongue, fluent in English, or bilingual German-English
Ability to travel in Europe
Retired military personnel or Sales engineer having strong knowledge and connection with the military, the navies
Good culture/knowledge of mechanics
Previous experience in filtration products sales would be a plus
