Overview
Litigation Paralegal (Onsite) – Leesburg, VA – $70-75k. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice focused on probate, fiduciary, estate, trust, guardianship, and conservatorship disputes. This role works closely with attorneys and leadership to manage cases from filing through resolution. This is an onsite position in Leesburg, Virginia for someone looking to grow their litigation career in a supportive, team-oriented, and family-friendly environment with strong work-life balance.
What You’ll Do
Litigation Support – Draft, file, and serve pleadings and motions in circuit courts
Prepare complaints, petitions, discovery, subpoenas, deposition notices, and proposed orders
Manage case calendars, deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial dates
Organize electronic and paper case files, document productions, and exhibits
Assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and trial binders
Communicate with court clerks, opposing counsel, process servers, and clients
Probate & Fiduciary Litigation
Prepare and file petitions involving will and trust contests, fiduciary removal, accountings, and distributions
Assist with inventories, accountings, and fiduciary filings
Review documents related to fiduciary breaches, undue influence, lack of capacity, and elder financial exploitation
Analyze financial records, bank statements, and property documents
Track subpoenas for medical, financial, and digital records
Guardianship & Conservatorship
Assist with initiating or challenging guardianship and conservatorship matters
Draft required petitions, notices, certifications, and proposed orders
Coordinate medical evaluations and prepare hearing materials
Client & Team Communication
Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, and third-party professionals
Maintain detailed case notes and provide status updates
Schedule depositions, mediations, IMEs, and expert consultations
Requirements
3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience (civil litigation required)
Experience in probate or fiduciary litigation strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and deadlines
Familiarity with the Virginia Code related to litigation and fiduciary matters
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal case management systems
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple cases and sensitive matters with discretion
Associate’s degree or higher; ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred
