Fractional Escrow Controller (Part-Time, In-House)

People's Title is seeking an experienced Escrow Controller to oversee escrow trust accounting, operating account oversight, fiduciary controls, and financial reporting within a Texas title company environment. This is a part-time, in-house role based in our Las Colinas office or remote.

This position requires direct title industry experience. We are not seeking a general bookkeeper.

Responsibilities

Escrow Trust Accounting

• Perform and review daily three-way reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve trust account discrepancies
• Maintain reconciliation workpapers and audit-ready documentation
• Oversee escrow ledger posting and internal wire controls
• Monitor trust-to-operating transfers

Operating Account Oversight

• Reconcile operating accounts
• Review expenses and vendor payments
• Monitor company cash flow
• Maintain internal financial controls

Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly P&L and balance sheet reports
• Support financial reporting required by underwriters
• Provide leadership with financial summaries and insights

Compliance & Audit

• Support TDI compliance requirements
• Prepare underwriter certifications
• Lead audit preparation and documentation

Qualifications

• 10+ years of escrow trust accounting experience in a Texas title company
• Strong experience with daily three-way reconciliations
• Experience with operating account reconciliation
• Understanding of fiduciary duties and escrow controls
• Experience with Qualia and QuickBooks preferred

Schedule

• 15-25 hours per week
• Remote role
