Summary
Under general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students. Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met, and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and PCS. Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of Business Education and Information Technology Education; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and teach a competency-based CTE program in Business and/or Marketing curriculum.
Provides the bridge needed by all students to deal with major societal issues such as work-and-family, health care, child and elder care, family and community violence and crime, global economics and politics, and technology usage.
Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management
Assist in coordination of CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state and/or national competition
Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands-on workshops
Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program
Develop community and industry partnerships for students
Core areas of the Business, Marketing, & Digital Media discipline include:
Business, Finance & Information Technology License
Marketing License
Licensing and Qualifications
Required Degree Level: Associates or Bachelors
Examples of Related Degrees: Accounting, Admin Systems, Business administration, Computer science, entrepreneurship, Finance, Information technologies, Management, Marketing, Risk Management, Computer technology, HR, Project management
Required Years of Work Experience for the CTE Restricted route: 4 Years with Associates or 2 years with Bachelors
Examples of Related Work Experience: advisor, financial analyst, sales manager, retail manager, corporate or personal financial manager, buyer, public relations, project manager, previous teaching experience in this content area
Required Degree Level: Associates or Bachelors
Examples of Related Degrees: admin systems, marketing, communications, economics, business administration, digital marketing, supply chain management, professional sales/selling
Required Years of Work Experience for the CTE Restricted route: 4 Years with Associates or 2 years with Bachelors
