Position Overview
The Medical Assistant (Float) plays a vital role in supporting multiple physician clinic locations, serving as a key link between patients and providers. This position delivers high-quality clinical and administrative support while ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Department: Physician Clinics (Float Position)
- Schedule: General office hours; days vary
- Travel: No external travel required (float between clinics)
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
- Incentive: Commitment bonus up to $5,000
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs and patient information
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits and procedures
- Perform phlebotomy and collect, label, and process specimens
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas in a clean and organized manner
- Communicate effectively with patients and care teams, both in person and via telephone
- Provide patient education as appropriate
- Support multiple clinic locations as part of the float team
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all regulatory and organizational standards
- Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple clinical environments
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professionalism
- Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)
