Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Monitor Bed Unit (MBU) provides direct, patient-centered care in a dynamic clinical environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct, individualized nursing care to patients
Monitor, assess, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical protocols and EHR documentation standards
Interpret cardiac monitoring and respond appropriately to abnormalities
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant care environment
Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (CPR) – required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred
Experience: Recent Critical Care and/or Medical-Surgical experience required

Strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills
Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration
Professionalism and accountability
Employment Requirements
Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
Flexibility to work varied shifts based on departmental needs
Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer)
