Job Summary This position will work with the unit to help develop & execute communication strategies and tactics. Primary responsibilities are in supporting internal and external communications as an effort to promote positive public image and tell the unit’s story by producing deliverables in a variety of formats.
Responsibilities Graduate School Webpage Development: Designing, creating, and optimizing TGS web pages. Designing and utilizing web forms, features and elements. Creating and maintaining web page navigation. Maintaining the back-end organization of web pages. Basic coding and back-end architecture of web pages. Drafting and editing basic web content. Optimizing photos for web publication. Utilizing approved AU web auxiliary pages and systems to enhance web pages and publications as needed (e.g., Campus Insider). Ensuring all new digital content meets institutional accessibility standards. Writing, editing, and regularly updating web copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with TGS and AU messaging.
Graduate School Webpage Maintenance: Maintaining and updating the TGS web pages’ information – internet and intranet. Serving as a resource for graduate program content and liaison with individual programs and TGS. Monitoring and aligning content across programs, units, colleges, and TGS pages. Performing routine audits of web pages and content. Evaluating and maintaining (update, correct, move, remove) existing content to ensure information is accurate, current, and relevant. Developing and adding new content/pages as needed. Corresponding and collaborating for updates. Working with the TGS office to maintain and update all TGS announcements, events, and information across digital spaces, including affiliated platforms. Working with the TGS Admissions team to ensure that all TGS admissions content is up to date and accurate. Providing support to the admissions team as needed.
On-Campus Collaborations: Working with appropriate departmental representatives to define content goals and organization and workflow for authoring, approving, and publishing content. Collecting and actively working to accomplish goals. Developing working groups to increase input of TGS stakeholders and promote a sense of community and collegiality across TGS. Collaborating with the Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) to ensure content and design meet Augusta University standards and mission. Working with DCM and Jagwire to increase TGS exposure by tagging appropriately. Developing and sharing graduate-relevant content with other departments and units for promotion through digital and social channels.
Web Analytics & Data Analysis for Increased User Experience: Researching and tracking market trends to maximize the use of TGS internet webpages as a recruitment tool. Tracking, analyzing, and assessing data; adapting tools to enhance user experience and engagement. Supporting academic programs and the educational mission to identify expected outcomes, assess achievement, and provide evidence of improvement based on assessment results. Evaluating and reporting on the visibility and impact of online content (analytics, quantitative and qualitative assessment). Analyzing data to evaluate content strategy effectiveness and using web analysis to expand content relevant to visitors. Using assessment results to inform and drive changes in web content or organization to increase traffic and improve navigation. Identifying and increasing items that attract greater attention.
Development of Online Content for TGS and Support for Grad Programs: Leading planning and coordination of TGS social media. Ensuring all content meets accessibility standards. Taking pictures, writing content, and developing videos. Creating flyers, announcements, and forms for web publication. Writing and maintaining SOPs for web processes and practices, guidelines, and accurate documentation. Writing TGS news stories and features for Jagwire and assisting with publication coordination. Serving as point of contact for all media content in TGS-wide events. Providing support to programs for special events and requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two years combined professional experience in web publishing, web design or web development or related field.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or a related field. Experience in photography and photographic manipulation. Previous higher education experience.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Abilities Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite interruptions, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B9
Salary: $48,800/annually-$61,000/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Conditions of Employment All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check prior to starting with Augusta University.
If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: a credit check may be completed for Positions of Trust and/or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
