Job Summary B&A is seeking a Technical Lead / Senior WordPress Web Developer to provide strategic and hands‑on leadership in the design, development, and execution of web‑based solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, secure, and scalable web applications within WordPress CMS environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical authority, translating business requirements into efficient solutions while overseeing development teams and enforcing best practices across all web initiatives.
Responsibilities Conduct assessments of technical needs and provide leadership for technical architecture and execution of task order requests
Lead the design, development, coding, testing, and maintenance of WordPress websites and web applications
Oversee and guide technical and programming teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards, timelines, and quality expectations
Ensure compliance with all technical requirements, including security, accessibility, and performance standards
Configure, develop, and deploy WordPress CMS solutions, including themes, plugins, and custom functionality
Review code and enforce development standards, quality assurance processes, and governance controls
Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, secure, and high‑performing code
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to create intuitive site layouts and user interfaces that meet visual and usability standards
Lead troubleshooting efforts, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure optimal site performance and functionality
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, development standards, and user guides
Education and Experience Minimum of seven (7) years of web development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading or managing web development teams
Demonstrated experience with WordPress CMS development, configuration, and administration
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Required Skills Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front‑end frameworks
Extensive experience with WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and CMS configuration
Proficiency in PHP and backend development for WordPress customization
Strong understanding of web architecture, application design, and system integration
Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing coding standards and best practices
Knowledge of web security principles, including secure coding and vulnerability mitigation
Experience optimizing website performance and scalability
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage development workflows
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
Desired Skills Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Knowledge of SEO best practices and web analytics tools
Experience implementing accessibility standards (WCAG compliance)
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience integrating APIs and third‑party services
Experience supporting federal or government clients
Security Clearance Provide proof of US citizenship.
The ability to obtain a security clearance.
