Position Overview
CPC Scientific is seeking one full‑time Business Development professional who will be instrumental for our Sales and Business Development in the Western region. This is a full‑time, remote, exempt position. Candidate must reside in California. The role requires a successful track record and network in the CDMO/CMO industry to continue the company’s growth by outperforming our competitors. This position will report directly to the VP of BD. This position will interact with all levels within the organization. Professionalism and maintaining confidentiality are an integral part of the job. There is an immediate need to fill this position as soon as possible.

Duties

Management of all assigned accounts within your territory, both non‑GMP and CGMP, including any email and phone communications, and face‑to‑face visits (~40‑60% local travel within territory, ~10% travel outside territory) necessary to establish strong client relationships.

Coordinate internally for non‑GMP quotes with the inside sales and customer support team and follow up to win non‑GMP business after quotes are submitted by the inside sales team.

Write CGMP and preclinical non‑GMP quotes for clients within your territory and submit to clients after internal review and approval.

Generate and follow‑up on new business leads primarily via cold‑calls, cold‑emails and referrals from your network and CPC Scientific’s existing network(s).

Prepare and deliver technical and sales presentations.

Marketing: Identify strategic tradeshows and sales events on the West Coast, and work with other team members as needed for new product releases, website improvements/development, etc.

Participate in relevant conferences, symposia, trade shows, and training; provide tactical support for trade show and sales event organization as needed.

Provide feedback and assistance to the Executive Committee as requested.

Grow Western Territory sales to meet current and future sales budgets.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s college degree; Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) strongly preferred. Preferably in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or life sciences.

Experience
Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in CDMO, peptide, or pharmaceutical business development.

Essential Physical, Mental, and Travel Requirements

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods; use computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor extensively; lift at least 25 pounds; walk, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, turn and use stairs/ladders; visit conference centers, client offices or hotels as needed.

Mental Requirements: Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in workload priorities, prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality; excellent analytical and organizational skills; manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality; work independently; self‑motivated in a fast‑paced team environment; strong written and verbal communication skills; responsive to internal/external client needs.

Travel: Ability to drive for job‑related duties such as visiting clients; valid driver’s license and insurance required; travel approximately 25% ±; ability to visit field offices in California when required; travel by commercial modes within the USA and abroad if necessary; valid passport required.

Salary range is $100,000 – $130,000.
