
Business Development Manager

We are working with a globally recognised and leading CDMO specialising in synthetic peptide and oligonucleotide production. The company has one of the largest research peptide facilities in the world with over 400 employees globally.
We are looking for a Business Development professional who will be instrumental for sales in the Western region, requiring a successful track record and network in the CDMO/CMO industry.
Responsibilities Management of all assigned accounts within your territory, both non-GMP and CGMP.
You will coordinate internally for non-GMP quotes with the inside sales and customer support team and follow up to win non-GMP business after quotes are submitted by the inside sales team.
You will write CGMP and preclinical nonGMP quotes for clients within your territory and submit to clients after internal review and approval of said quotes.
Generate and follow-up on new business leads primarily via cold-calls, cold-emails and referrals.
Coordinate internally with the technical and project management leads to ensure successful project implementation and client communication.
Prepare and deliver technical and sales presentations.
Marketing: you will help identify strategic tradeshows and sales events on the West Coast that relate to sales activities, etc. You will work together with other team members as needed for new product releases, website improvements / development, etc.
Participate in relevant conferences, symposia, trade shows, and training. You will have tactical support for trade shows and sales event organisation as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as required and as assigned by your supervisor or other senior management team members.
Provide feedback and assistance to the Executive Committee as requested.
Qualifications Bachelor’s college degree; Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) strongly preferred. preferably in Chemistry, Biochemistry or life sciences.
Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in CDMO, peptide, or pharmaceutical business development.
Ability to utilise excellent analytical and organisational skills, and manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality.
Ability to work independently, and be a self-motivated individual able to work in a fast-paced team environment with tight schedules.
Travel will be approximately 25% +/-.
Ability to visit field offices in California when required.
